According to the Old Testament, leprosy is God's punishment, and exclusion from society has been an added burden for the afflicted. When Julienne became a leper, her husband followed her to one of the largest leper colonies in the world, run by Norwegian deacons. The man left Julienne with the words: "I will not be married to you anymore, we will be divorced." Treatments made Julienne symptom-free after a while, but deformed hands and feet cannot be cured by the medication. The man returned when he heard she had recovered. What does Julienne answer to the man who has pushed her out because of illness?
